Meet The Director

Thunderbird Sports Camp has been a part of Abby's life since the days before she could walk on her own two feet. She began as a camper, to then a Sports Camp Counsellor and now the Director of all TMSI Camps for TMSI Sports Management. Abby has a passion for sports and recreation, specifically the benefits it has for youth physical and mental wellbeing. She is constantly seeking out new initiatives to improve Thunderbird Sports Camp and our the other TMSI Camp locations every season. Establishing an environment for campers to always "feel at home," Abby strives to ensure our campers are provided the tools to be active, make friends and build memories to last a lifetime!


Abby has completed an Honours Degree in Communication and Media Studies and Sociology from Carleton University followed by an Applied Management degree from Algonquin College. Abby has recently completed her Master's in Sports Business and Management at the University of Liverpool and is continuing to build her on her career within TMSI Sports Management.

What We Offer

We offer everything and more! With access to our very own 9-hole golf course and two indoor soccer domes, we have fun rain or shine! Our facility is set up for campers to enjoy hockey, volleyball , basketball, and more indoor and outdoor activities.

SPORTS

We have access to a plethora of other sports that campers enjoy on a regular basis! Campers have the opportunity to play basketball, hockey, volleyball, and beyond. Check them out here!

We are currently operating at a reduced capacity thanks to covid. Last summer, we also operated at reduced capacity and had NO positive cases reported to us. We take all the necessary precautions to keep your children and our counselors safe.

Parents prepare and pack lunches enough throughout the school year. At Thunderbird Sports Camp, we have got you covered for lunches on a daily basis! We serve our campers peanut free lunches while also accommodating to vegetarian preferences.

Our Team

We are proud to have built a team of counselors who act as both leaders and role models for our campers everyday of the week. Whether they are completing or have completed their education in sports and recreation, education and beyond, they show up everyday with enthusiasm and excitement for our campers. All of our team members are up to date in their First Aid and AED certifications. Our goal at camp is to build character, bring campers out of their shells and have fun all while being OURSELVES! Meet more of our whole team here!

Our Mission Statement

We take pride in offering an environment that goes beyond a summer camp but also exists as a  "summer home" for all who attend. We take a very personal approach to everything we do, whether it is the activities we plan, the way we interact with our campers and parents, or the quality of staff that we hire. We believe in the importance of establishing a team atmosphere as we feel that a team bond between our campers and counsellors always creates a comfortable and exciting environment for all.
